Haitian American Singer Sheila DeGraff Set To Shut Down FESTAC Africa Festival With Her Masterpiece Song Titled “Africa”!
U.S based Haitian American Singer cum Film Producer and Actress Sheila DeGraff set to perform her masterpiece song titled ” Africa” at World’s Black and African Festival of Art and Culture popularly known as FESTAC Africa Festival (Africa’s biggest Art and Cultural Festival) in Kisumu Kenya in August from 25th to 1st September.
Sheila Degraff, a multifaceted artist whose journey transcends borders and resonates through the realms of music and television. As a cherished member of Shanachie Entertainment’s ‘Rara Machine’, she graced stages across the US, Canada, and Germany, leaving an indelible mark on diverse landscapes.
While contributing her talents to Rara Machine’s albums in the early ’90s, including “Break the Chain” and “Vodou Nou,” Sheila transitioned to a successful nursing career. Yet, her unwavering passion for music brought her back to the studio, yielding the albums “Kouray” in 1998 and “Africa” in 2003.
In 1999, Sheila earned recognition as part of the Haitian Divas at NY’s Planet Malibu, a testament to her impact on the music scene. Beyond music, her artistic prowess extended to the small screen, where she wore the hats of actress and producer for the successful ’90s TV show, “Meli Melo.”
The journey continued with the groundbreaking project, “Madame Ou Mademoiselle?” A musical movie penned, directed, and produced by Sheila, featuring 18 soul-stirring songs, released in 2013, preceding the film’s debut in 2014; first of its kind in the Haitian Entertainment Industry.
