Organ harvesting: I was not involved in the search for a kidney donor - Ekwellemadu's wife shares court

 She denied any involvement in the search for organ donors. She Beatrice was arrested in England last year along with her husband on suspicion of smuggling a young man into England to have his kidney removed. She appeared in court on Monday at the Old Bailey in London, denying her allegations, along with her husband, her daughter and doctor Obinna Obeta. 

At Royal Free Hospital she unsuccessfully tried to convince a doctor to perform a medical procedure at a cost of £80,000, and the young man is said to have been falsely introduced as Sonia's cousin. Regarding household finances, Beatrice told the court that her husband had taken care of the house.Just pointed out that she was doing only the housework. 

Her daughter had kidney problems and her husband , said Sonia fell ill in 2919 and was diagnosed with a problem in the UK. Sonia will return to London and undergo medical examination at Cromwell Hospital and Royal Free Hospital, the jury said. 

The BBC reported that defense attorney Anu Mohindol KC said: 

“There are text messages from your husband keeping you informed of what was happening. Is that something he would do?”

Defendant replied:

"Yes. He will tell me what I think I need to know."

 I asked if I passed on the conversation. Beatrice told jurors that she thought Diwe Ekweremadu was her family doctor, but that he had not asked. Oveta, a former classmate of Diwe, has offered to help the family. Mohindru asked the defendants if they were involved in identifying candidates, but Ms Ekweremadu said no.

 The Ekweremadus family, with addresses in Willesden Green, north-west London, and Obeta, Southwark, south London, have denied the charges against them and the trial continues.
